Martha Jane Strowbridge
November 10th 1946 - November 21st 2008
It is with great sadness we announce the death of Martha Jane Strowbridge, who passed away peacefully on Friday, November 21st at Oromocto Hospital. Born in Boxey, NL she was the youngest of four daughters of the late Leo & Leah Blagdon. Martha retired after 20-years from her job at Canex in 2007 and took a leave from her work at OCRI while she battled cancer.
She is survived by her son, James (Callista) and daughter, Leah, both of Fredericton; three sisters, Maisie Rose of Boxey NL, Marina (Arthur) Leights of Halifax, NS and Reverend Mildred (Eugene) Tobin of Springdale, NL; special friend, Terry Cox; a special little girl, Karlyn; uncle, Allan Poole of Liverpoole, NS; nieces, nephews, cousins, many friends and her dog, Buddy. Martha will be sadly missed by her special friend, Terry, along with her family and friends who loved her deeply.
In keeping with Martha’s wishes there will be no visitation. A funeral service will be held at Oromocto Funeral Home on Tuesday, November 25th, at 2:30 pm with The Reverend Mildred Tobin Officiating.
Interment of ashes will take place at a later date at St. John The Evangelist Cemetery, Boxey, NL.
