Bertha Adella Smith

Surrounded by her family on July 5th, 2010 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital, Bertha Adella Smith of French Lake, NB was called to meet her Lord and Savior. Born November 2nd, 1924 in Geary, NB she was the daughter of the late Raymond and Thelma (Carr) Smith and wife to the late Graydon Smith.
Bertha was an extremely faithful woman who devoted her life to serving God. A lifelong member of the French Lake Baptist Church, Bertha always put her Lord and then her family first and was an inspiration and a blessing to her children and grandchildren as they were growing up.
She is survived by her children, Wilmot "Will" Smith (Gail) of French Lake, NB, Carol Falconer (Bill) of Kingston, NS, Darrell Smith (Marjorie) of Parry Sound, ON and Suzanne DuPlessis (Brian) of Woodstock, NB; one sister, Kathleen Smith of Waterville, Sunbury Co., NB; grandchildren, Robert (Katie), Janice (Steve), Jennifer (Troy), Shelley, Cynthia (Marc), Peter (Jacquelyn), Beth (Matthew), Mary-Lee (Steve), Glen and John; great-grandchildren, Graydon, Maggie, Sam, Cassie, Zachary, Audrey, Andrew, Grace and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Bertha was predeceased by her husband, Graydon; her parents and her siblings, Violet Carr and Leo Smith.
Visitation will be held at the Oromocto Funeral Home on Wednesday, July 7th, 2010 from 2-4 & 7-9 pm. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, July 8th, 2010 at the French Lake Baptist Church at 2:00 pm with Rev. Barry Vernon officiating. Interment will take place in the Morrow Cemetery. For those who wish, donations in memory of Bertha may be made to the Geary, French Lake, Waterville Cemetery Committee, the French Lake Baptist Church or the charity of the donor's choice. (357-5100)
