Gerald Alexander Brown

It is with heavy hearts that the family of Gerald Brown of Swan Creek, loving husband of Phyllis (Meade) Brown for 42 years passed away peacefully at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital on Saturday, May 13, 2017 with his loving family by his side. Gerald was born in Bettsburg, Northumberland County, NB on February, 4, 1957 to the late Holly W and Lorena A (Carr) Brown.

Gerald was a loving husband, father, grampy, brother and friend. He loved getting together with friends for coffee and dedicated much of his time being Captain with the Upper Gagetown Volunteer Fire Department (510).  His career included work for DNR as well as the Irving Company.

Besides his wife, he is survived by sons, Chris Brown (Carolyn) of Upper Gagetown and Jeff (Holly) of Fredericton; brother, Charles (Jerry) of Cambridge-Narrows; precious grandsons, Avery and Brody Brown and step granddaughters, Madelyn Hawkes and Sacha Lyson.  He is also survived by several sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces and nephews.

Along with his parents, Gerald was predeceased by his sisters, Rachel Ross and Gertrude Bell; infant brother, Hayward as well as sisters-in-law and brothers-in- law.

The family would like to extend thanks to the many friends and the hospital staff for their kindness and compassion for Gerald – you will never be forgotten.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 18, 2017 at Oromocto Funeral Home from 2 – 4 pm and 7 – 9 pm. A funeral service will be held from the Oromocto Funeral Home Chapel, 108 Winnebago St., Oromocto, on Friday, May 19, 2017 at 2:00 pm with Rev. Jane Johnson officiating. Memorial donations may be made to the Lung Association or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
