David Conrad Lockwood
It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of David Conrad Lockwood of Burton, NB, which occurred at his home on Tuesday, January 5, 2018. Born in Woodstock, NB on April 8, 1940, he was the son of the late J.B. (Bernie) and Jenny (Hall) Lockwood.
David was an avid reader, some of his favorite reading material were suspense novels, the daily newspaper and Maclean's magazines. He was also a major sports fan. On David’s spare time, he was often watching basketball, baseball, football, golf or hockey on TV. When it came to music, David was very talented. He played the French horn and was a brilliant singer. As a long-time member of St. John’s Anglican Church, he was very involved in the choir and sang solos as well. David and his late wife, Margaret ‘Marg’ Lockwood attended various events and activities at the church, one of their favorites being "soupson". Marg was the twinkle in David’s eyes, his love for her was immense. Being high school sweethearts, their love was strong and everlasting. Now David is reunited with his beautiful wife Marg.
David will be greatly missed by his daughters, Laura Lockwood (Diane) and Sandra Lockwood-Fraser (John); brothers, Paul (Dawn) and Jack (Kaye) Lockwood; as well as several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. In addition to his parents and loving wife Marg, David was predeceased by brother, Jimmy Lockwood and sister, Jeannine Folsom.
By request of the family there will be no visitation or funeral service. A graveside service will be held at a later date in the St. John’s Anglican Cemetery. Memorial donations in David’s memory may be made to St. John’s Anglican Church or a charity of the donor’s choice.
