Obituary of Mark Thomas Gahan

The sudden passing of Mark Thomas Gahan happened on the morning of March 22, 2024, in Sheffield, New Brunswick.

Mark was born December 12, 1985 in Fredericton to Kathleen Dykeman and Miles Gahan.

He grew up primarily in the Burton and Oromocto area, where he attended school and made most of his connections. His boys were his pride and joy and greatest accomplishment. Due to medical issues and a lack of support he was medically released from the military in 2019 after a decade of service.

In addition to his sons, Isaiah and Mason Gahan, and their mother Samantha Reid, he is also survived by his mother, Kathleen Dykeman; father, Miles Gahan (Janice); in-laws, Gary and Judy Reid; brother, Daniel Gahan (Katie), and nephew Jackson; sister, Ashley Dykeman (Richard) and nieces, Piper, Lorelai and Semiah; step-siblings, Dave McGuire (Tanya), Angela Squires, Sara Beaton (Beaton), and nephew Casey; sisters-in-law Bonnie MacDonald (Brian), and their children, Kalib, Charlotte, and Max, and April Fleury (Joey), and their children, Trinity and Ethan; maternal grandparents, Sharon Regier, and Walter and Helen McHugh; paternal grandparents, Shirley Gahan (late Thomas) and Bud Price as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and close friends.

Cremation to take place, and final resting place to be decided at a later date. A small gathering will be held at Oromocto Funeral home on Wednesday, March 27, 2024 from 3-5pm. In lieu of flowers, feel free to donate to a Mental Health Association, or a charity of the donor's choice.
